The Software Technologies Research Center (STRC) is an innovative, state-of-the-art hardware and software applications development and training facility, created to support economic competitiveness and productivity, by furthering the use and adoption of networked, collaboration and visualization cyberinfrastructure to develop solutions to complex problems.

STRC manages technology transfer activities with UIC affiliated laboratories that are highly cost-effective resources providing its partners with far-reaching R&D services using fully operational and professionally supported facilities. STRC offers expertise and project planning, dedicated project research teams, multi-million dollar facilities with a range of technologies, high-speed network testbeds and collaborative spaces. And, STRC provides talented and motivated graduate students, who obtain firsthand R&D knowledge and skills, and are highly desirable for jobs upon graduation.
